It is an irritation and inflammation of the mucous membrane in the Nose. Also called Coryza it can lead to all types of nasal problems like stuffy nose and sneezing. 

It affects between 10-30% of Adults and up to 40% of Children making it the 5th most Chronic Disease in the United States which there is no cure. Common types of Rhinitis is Allergic and Nonallergic.

Rhinitis Causes

The two main types of Rhinitis are Allergic and Nonallergic. Allergic Rhinitis causes are mainly from Allergens like Pollen (Hay Fever), Mold, Dust and Pet Dander (Skin & Salvia). Nonallergic Rhinitis are more stress, changes in environment, food, odors, smoke, perfume, alcohol, and certain medications.

Infectious Rhinitis Causes

This type of Rhinitis is caused by Viruses like Rhinoviruses, Coronavirus, and Influenza virus. Bacteria like Streptococcus Pneumonia, Moraxella Catarrhalis and Haemophilus Influenza are known to cause infectious Rhinitis.

Chronic Rhinitis

Rhinitis is considered chronic when it lasts more than 12 weeks. Long term rhinitis may lead to Sinusitis, Nasal polyps, and Ear Infections.



Rhinitis Symptoms

These symptoms are for all types of Rhinitis:

  • Stuffy Nose & Congestion
  • Sneezing
  • Postnasal Drip
  • Runny & Itchy Nose
  • Headache & Tiredness
  • Itchy Throat, Eyes and Ears
  • Ear Infections
  • Breathing through the Mouth
  • Clear drainage from Nose
  • Snoring

Allergic Rhinitis Solutions

A high level of Allergens in the air like Bacteria, Dust Mites, Gaseous Pollutants, Mold Spores, Pet Dander, Pollen, Smoke & Viruses may cause Conditions like Asthma, Chronic Sinus Infections, Rhinitis and Respiratory Illnesses.

Rhinitis Treatment
